Kevin Krueger (2009)
In
January 2009, Kevin Krueger
became the 27th minister. This
transition also saw the ministry
again take on responsibility for
property
assessment matters. During his
tenure, the ministry restructured
three provincial grant programs
(Traffic Fine Revenue Sharing, Small
Community Grants, and Regional
District Grants) into the new
Strategic Community Investment Fund.
This restructuring expedites the
process of providing these funds to
local governments.
Krueger was elected to the
legislature in 1996, 2001, and 2005,
as the Liberal MLA for
Kamloops-North Thompson. In
2009 he was elected as the MLA for
Kamloops-South Thompson. Prior to
becoming Minister of Community
Development, Krueger served as
Minister of State for Mining,
Minister of Small Business and
Revenue, and Minister Responsible
for Regulatory Reform.
In June 2009, Krueger became the
Minister of Tourism, Culture and the
Arts.
